Everyone goes through a time in their lives when they start putting on more weight and start needed new clothes. That time is currently happening for me... and it sucks. Like most, I don't have the money to go buy a whole new wardrobe, so I tend to get hand-me-downs from the people around me. This is where I first started thinking about perspective and looking at things from a different point of view. See, I got some pants from a friend. To her, these were considered her "skinny pants" but to me, they were my new "fat pants". What changed between this pair of pants? Did the size change between her having them and me having them? No! Our perspectives are different.
"Okay Tuesdae, what does a pair of pants have to do with my bad day?"
I am glad you asked! That's just it. It's a bad day. Look at it as such. Pinterest is great because it has all these great and funny motivational quotes. Once I saw one that said, "It's a bad day,
not a bad life" and it made me think about how it really is just a bad day, maybe a bad week. In comparison to your life, it's not a big deal. You have to change your perspective on how you look at things, big and small. You can look at your bad day and mope around and hate everything, OR you can look at it from a different perspective. Life has so much to be thankful for. Don't waste your day feeling sorry for yourself.
Do you ever get a song stuck in your head and you have to listen to it over and over again until you're sick of it then you listen to it ten more times? I have a few that I am alternating between. One of them is Just Be Held by Casting Crowns. It's been on KLRC a lot lately (which is why it shocked me to learn it was released in 2014). This is another thing that has made me change my perspective on things. The song itself is one that is from the perspective of God (which usually I think is weird but I like this one). It talks about letting go of the things we feel we are responsible for. We often get overwhelmed because there is so much we feel we are responsible for. This song says stop holding onto all that stuff that's weighing you down. Jesus is there to take your worries; He is there for you!
There is a line in the song that says, "your worlds not falling apart it's falling into place". Isn't that beautiful? God's got this! When everything seems to be going wrong and you're overwhelmed, good! That's by design because God is showing you something else. Change the way you are looking at the problem. Maybe God is trying to point you back to Him. Maybe you're missing the bigger picture and He is pointing you in the direction you need to go in.
Try changing your perspective. Look at things through a different lens, through someone else's eyes. It might seem like it's the end of the world, but I promise, it's not. Stop, Breathe, Pray. Change how you look at the problem.
This week in Creation Corner:
I realize I've been going back and forth between Creation and Creative corner... Which sounds better to you? I can't decide.
Anyway! I've finished Titus' birthday present! There is a video flip-through of it on YouTube! This week I spent most of the week editing pictures from a couple shoots that I had the week before!
